The Company shall rent a rental vehicle (hereinafter referred to as the “Rental Car”) to the Renter in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, and the Renter shall rent the Rental Car from the Company. Any matters not stipulated in these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by applicable laws and regulations or generally accepted customs.

  2. The Company may agree to special provisions to the extent that such provisions do not conflict with the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, applicable laws and regulations, administrative directives, or generally accepted customs. In the event that a special provision is agreed upon, such special provision shall take precedence over these Terms and Conditions.

Chapter 2 Reservations

Article 2 (Reservation Application)

When renting a Rental Car, the Renter may, after agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and the separately prescribed rate table, etc., make a reservation in advance by the method separately prescribed by the Company, specifying the vehicle class, rental start date and time, rental location, rental period, return location, driver, whether optional equipment such as a child seat is required, and other rental conditions (hereinafter referred to as the “Rental Conditions”).

Article 3 (Changes to Reservations)

If the Renter wishes to change any of the Rental Conditions specified in the preceding Article, the Renter must obtain the Company’s approval in advance.

  3. In the cases described in the preceding two paragraphs, the Renter shall pay the Company a reservation cancellation fee in accordance with the separately prescribed provisions.

  4. If a reservation is canceled or a Rental Agreement is not concluded due to circumstances attributable to the Company, the Company shall refund any reservation deposit already received and shall also pay a penalty in accordance with the separately prescribed provisions.

  5. If the Rental Agreement cannot be concluded due to an accident, theft, failure to return a vehicle, recall, natural disaster, or any other reason not attributable to either the Renter or the Company, the reservation shall be deemed canceled.
